About Crabapple Legal
Corporate counsel built for how businesses actually grow.
Crabapple Legal was founded by two attorneys who spent their careers on both sides of the table: inside growing companies as general counsel, and outside them advising on the deals that define a company’s next chapter.
Jamie Hernan began his career at King & Spalding specializing in banking and finance law, and has since spent decades as outside general counsel to businesses of all sizes. Adam Haigh spent his career in senior in-house roles, including General Counsel and Board Secretary at Honey Baked Ham and Edible Arrangements, working with Fortune 50 clients on corporate governance, M&A, and regulatory compliance.
That combination shapes how the firm works. We know what it’s like to sit inside a business and make the call, not just advise on it from the outside. And we know what it takes to structure a deal, protect a company’s data, and get a transaction across the finish line.
Senior counsel, small-firm values
Most law firms scale by adding layers: junior associates, standardized processes, hourly billing that rewards time spent over problems solved. We built Crabapple Legal differently. Every client works directly with a founder, not a team of associates learning on the job. Engagements are structured to fit the business, not the firm, whether that means a single transaction, a fractional general counsel relationship, or ongoing outside counsel support.
What guides the work
- Growth Minded. We think about where your business is headed, not just the matter in front of us.
- Always Aligned. Our incentives are built around your outcomes, not billable hours.
- Exit Focused. Every decision gets made with an eye toward the value you’re building toward.
